Grids computing "have emerged as a common approach to constructing dynamic, inter-domain, distributed computing and data collaborations. In this environment, as the resources are usually distributed geographically at various levels, there is a great challenge for providing those resources and services of the grid which are of user's context. The purpose of this paper is to use the services of the grid by the grid portal which acts as a front end of the grid and also discussing the need and importance of a portal. A portal is built upon layers of services and component modules. This paper focuses on the architecture of portals. Grid portal provides a unique interface for end-users to access distributed resources and are used widely in Grid. Portals use portlets as pluggable user interface components that provide a presentation layer to information systems. Portlets are Java based Web components, which makes a portal more flexible and can be easily reused. In this chapter, we also briefly consider the different types of portals that exist.

Finding information hidden in data is as theoretically difficult as it is practically important. With the objective of discovering unknown patterns from data, the methodologies of data mining were derived from statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and are being used successfully in application areas such as bioinformatics, banking, retail, and many others. Companies have been collecting data for decades, building massive data warehouses in which to store it.Even though this data is available, very few companies have been able to realize the actual value stored in it. The question these companies are asking is how to extract this value. The answer is Data mining. There is many technologies available to data mining practitioners, including Artificial Neural Networks, Regression, and Decision Trees. Many practitioners are wary of Neural Networks due to their black box nature, even though they have proven themselves in many situations. This paper is an overview of artificial neural networks and questions their position as a preferred tool by data mining practitioners.

in this paper, a design of a new E-shape fractal antenna for multistandard application is proposed. Fractal geometry is best suited for its self similarity and space filling characteristics. An optimized design of fourth iteration of E-shape fractal is designed to satisfy the higher multistandard mobile terminal application. Various mobile standards are obtained at the end of iteration in particular this study produces the result after fourth iteration (4EFPA) which satisfies the LTE mobile band. Several properties of the antenna such as Return loss, VSWR, Impedance is obtained and the Gain of the antenna has been improved.

The changes of die angle, area reduction in dies, loading rate on the final extruded products, extrusion pressures of lead of circular cross sections has been investigated experimentally. The proposed method is successfully adapted to the forward extrusion of the equilateral triangular section from round billet through converging dies of different area reductions. Computation of extrusion pressure at various area reductions and calculations of different parameters (stress, strain etc.) in wet condition.

The objectives of research are to analyze the internal and external factors influencing the development of Namalatu Beach tourist object at Nusaniwe SubSub District, Ambon City, and to analyze the alternative strategy that is proposed to develop beach tourist object. Research method is qualitative descriptive. Data are collected through (1) observation, (2) questionnaire, and (3) interview. Sampling technique is Accidental Sampling for tourist respondent and Purposive Sampling for expert respondent. Data analysis method consists of inputting stage, matching stage and deciding stage [2]. Research method is qualitative descriptive. Analysis tools include matrix, IFAS (Internal Strategic Factors Analysis Summary), EFAS (External Strategic Factors Analysis Summary) and SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to formulate and to determine a strategy. Result of the analysis of matrix internal factor (IFAS) indicates that strengths rate is 2.61 and weaknesses rate is 0.41, and therefore, total of both is 3.0 meaning that strengths factor is higher than weaknesses factor. Result of the analysis of matrix external factor (EFAS) shows that opportunities rate is 1.89 and threats rate is 1.01. Total of both is 2.9 meaning that opportunities factor is able to deal with threats factor. The strategy of tourist object development remains at abscissa and ordinate points of 2.20:0.88 within Quadrant I (one). It must be a useful situation because tourist object has opportunities and strengths to be used well. Based on SWOT analysis, the most dominant strategy is SO (Strengths, Opportunities) strategy which is a strategy to develop strengths to manage opportunities. The strategy involves: (1) keeping and maintaining the natural condition of tourist object location, its originality, and its availability of facilities and structure-infrastructures, and (2) using the potential of natural resource and the tourism supporting facilities in maximum manner.
